Adam Balcy (1975) born and living in Bielsko-Biała, Poland.
Graduate of the post-secondary photography college in Bielsko-Biała (1996-1998). Winner of international photography competitions: Travel Photographer of the Year, IPA, PX3 and Jan Sunderland Mountain Landscape.
In 2017, together with Iwona Balcy, they published a photo album Iceland Impressions.
His first fascination was and landscape photography. In the 1990s he became interested in portrait photography, as well as various forms of staging with people.
Later, having photographed both Icelandic scenery, the Himalayas and his native
Beskids, he returns to the photography of the first period, but in an individualised form, consciously rejecting the landscape aspect and trying to express his own perspective in the subjects taken, through photographic series.
He is currently working on several visual stories in a maritime setting, set in themes on the borderline between landscape and documentary, and continues to photograph mountain landscapes.
